Enjoying the Springtime Scenery

Now that flowers are finally blooming everywhere in Chicago, I’m totally enjoying the gorgeous springtime scenery during my bike commutes. Although winter scenery is beautiful in its own weird way and autumn leaves are striking, spring wins the scenery contest hands down. As long as its not raining.

Unfortunately, for the second year in a row, I have allergies in the form of a terribly scratchy throat and itchy sinuses. I never had allergies before last year. But I’m still happy to be surrounded by flowers.

I never had allergies either, untill after living in the S.W. for several years. By now i’m
used to them. I’ve been told you need to eat something made from what you are allergic to.
My allergy is to Juniper Pollen.
Juniper berries are used to make Gin!

i love thom’s advice! try using a neti pot for those allergies. mine started up this spring too but with the neti pot in the morning and at night, they’re gone! and with no meds!

i also love the spring scenery. it is so beautiful, i wish the trees and tulips were blooming year-round!

Oh, allergies are brutal right now! I am also experiencing sinus problems, and eczema for the first time ever. At least the beautiful blooms you photographed make it a little bit better!

Those Magnolia trees are lovely, but they sure are a mess. We have one in our backyard and it always seems like they only last a few days before dropping all those big, gorgeous petals on the ground to rot and kill the grass.

Give me a good, clean dogwood tree any day.

    ;)
